Has anyone tried Grip Clips on a 2-mil or 3-mil poly tarp (dropcloth)? I am prototyping some tarp shapes first with a cheap poly tarp, and it looks like Grip Clips would be the best way to obtain side pullouts. I've tried tying off a smooth object with a clove hitch or constrictor knot, but like someone else noted that method causes a lot of fabric bunch-up.

    Grip clip idea

What about using Grip Clips for connecting your under quilt to your hammock fabric?? Poss no air gap issues if 4 corners were locked in.

Where did you find these grip clips? In the past Sierra Designs sold them.
    The beauty of sunsets,
    The wind in the pines,
The mountains give these and more...

I use ping pong balls. They wont damage the tarp and they weigh nothing. If you look closely ping pong balls come in diff grades. I buy the good ones and they are fairly indestructable, I usually have six or so loose in my bag. I give them to people I meet in the woods almost every time I camp. I also use hair ties around it, I just double it and put it over the ball. That keeps a slip knot from tightening and allows the ball to pull loose before damaging the tarp in really high winds. For just a couple of bucks ping pong balls cant be beaten.

I just found this thread and need to comment.
Has anyone tried coating the grip with contact cement or rubber cement? I suspect either one would work well if allowed to dry completely.
    Rubber cement is much cheaper

what if you used Ryno Liner (the bed liner coating) its verrry grippy and would stick to the plastic well.. just an idea
