    Red River Gorge, May 2010

I had a great time at the Red River Gorge this weekend. I really enjoyed meeting and talking to everyone, seeing a lot of scenery, hiking around a little, and having a lot of fun. We missed those of you who could not attend for one reason or another. I stayed an extra day just to explore more of Swift Creek itself.

Here's a link to some pictures. I'll definitely be headed back to the RRG/Clifty Wilderness again.

Just getting back home myself... It was great meeting many of you folks for the first time, and seeing some friends again.

RRG is a beautiful area, and I hope to be there again in the future for more hiking. Thanks to everyone that attended for a pleasant hang and good company.

We didn't! That was at the start of the hike and we wanted to get going. I'd like to go back and do it though. It was hot and humid enough that it would have felt great.

Those of us that stayed on Sunday spent some time wading and swimming in Swift Creek, which was very pleasant with the heat. And we got to enjoy a mild thunderstorm that night...although it did make for quite the humid hike out.

Nice pictures. It really looks different, compared to last fall, with all the green. Wish I could have made it this time.

Glad to hear you all had a good time. How crowded was it this time of year? I also love the gorge. Wish I could have been there. Mule

It would have been nice to have you along Mule. The popular campsites were taken, but for a holiday weekend it wasn't too crowded. The crowds were all at the river swimming. the parking lot at the trail head was overflowing and the trip out of the park had lots of traffic.

It was a nice trip, lots of scenery, laurel in bloom and only one snake sighted. Except for a couple obnoxious neighbors it was a great time.
