    Could this be used???

    I know it's heavy but could this material be used for a first time DIY hammock? For those that know fabric what will be the pros & cons?

    It is heavy at 5 oz/sq yd but it would certainly work.

    yep, you would be much happier finding a better weight, especially if you'll be backpacking w/ it.
