The big event????

Can anyone tell me what one event is the best to go to in order to see as many vendor displays as possible.

I'm obsessed with finding the best products for me and the only way I can really do that is to listen to what my fellow hammockers have to say and more importantly look, see, and experience what the industry has to offer is person. It cost alot of money to buy and return items ordered over the internet so I'd like to attend the next event where all the players will be represented. I live in So. Illinois and love both coasts so location isn't an issue for me.

Trail days in Damascus VA, around the beginning of May is like a backpacker trade show and rock concert combined. If you are interested in Hammocking I suggest going to one of our campouts. The ones in Hot Springs seems to be the best, it is put on by Ed Speers of Speers hammocks. There is one this weekend and on Oct 5th there is one in MD.

Trail Days in Damascus is clearly what you describe.... The vendors are there the Friday-Sunday the weekend after Mothers' Day.

The MAHHO is in Western MD the week end of 5 Oct....Should be a good turn out and Jacks R better will be bringing all our gear plus a few other hammock models for demo purposes.

Bring extra beer and food! Believe me, this is how I learned about hammocks at TD. Feed them the hangers a little and they'll gladly take you back into the hammock realm to show-off their set-ups.

Learn to recongize the "pride points". Last year it seemed to be the No-Sniveller. When one walks past you say: "Wow, is that a "xxxxxxxx"?" They will glow and tell you everything you ever wanted to know and be happy to let you try out their stuff.

We tend to be pretty proud of our hanging gear, probably cause most of it winds up being homemade.

I like the Hangi idea, but it wouldn't have to be a Hammock Forums thing.
