Some great DIY fabric at a used clothing store... (Value Village its a chain up here in Canada).
A 40"x60" piece of Thinsulate ($4), and 2 full yards of 55" wide, Polartec 100 with lycra ($2)...
Now I've got to cruise the fabric section when I go.... There was also tons of taffeta but all in girly wedding party colours.... Nice and cheap, but not low profile, but likely great for doing "test" builds.
I'm thinking the Thinsulate will make a very nice, light, "reflective" yet breathable starter for an underquilt....
