Veepster: I am thinking outside the box and have not tried this: could you add two other 4x4s (one in each corner) INSIDE the current corners of the castle (which already have 4x4s) with bolts/brackets that are TALLER than your current corner posts.
Accomplishes two things—(1) taller, so you can mount higher the ENO and any future hammocks, and (2) the inward forces as the top of the new 4x4s would translate to outward force at the bottom, which is fine because it’s very safely tucked in there and reinforced by the original corner posts you have now. Better, perhaps, for the lifespan of the castle than tying directly to the current corner posts, which will try to come in on the top, out on the bottom, and eventually pull away from the castle.
