I have a 10 foot tarp that I hang under the line with toggles. It is over my head and then I stake it out tight and the middle of the tarp ridgeline sags 8 inches and my head and maybe shoulders rub. How can I fix this? Can I put a loop in the ridgeline about the center and attach the tarp to the line? I don't see that in any pictures. Should I just not pull so tight? Should I try to get it higher to start?

grip clips to prussick loop on your ridge line? or run the ridge under the tarp...KM
Is it sagging along the ridgeline or in the middle of the tarp 'wall'?
My guess is that you have a rectangular tarp and the middle of the wall is drooping inwards (from stretch and condensation).
If that is the case here is a small (and incomplete) list of what you could do/try.
-adjust the tie-outs so they are more of a 45^ away from the tarp instead of inline with the edge.
-attach some pull-outs to the tarp wall and tie it to your hiking poles or trees.
-switch your guy-lines to something that is self-tensioning (i.e. bungie cord, Silicon tube, etc.)
-switch your guy-lines to a non-nylon rope
-swap/modify your tarp to a cat-cut tarp.
Is your tarp nylon, silnylon, spinn, cuben, etc?
I ride a recumbent.

Are you by chance attaching your tarp to the hammock supports rather than directly to the trees (or what ever you are hanging your hammock from)?

I am attaching the tarp ridgeline to trees. The sag is in the ridgeline of the tarp not the walls. I do have side pullouts on the tarp. Folks say to put the tarp under the cord because of water following and dripping on you. That makes sense to me. When it is raining it is worse. I will go try a grip clip and prussik.
Running th rl over the tarp will help
I think Rug touched on an important fact...What are you using to tie out your tarp?
And what tarp? Is it new? some fabric will really stretch the first few times out, then settle down in time.
I see you have a diy tarp, pics may help your questions.
But normally readjusting the tie out angles, as Rug suggested, eliminates the sags.
