Welcome!!
Lakeview huh. Is there anywhere left East of you to actually hang a hammock?? Seems most of the timber around there has been cut down.
I have really been wating to get over to the Mt Lassen or Mt Shasta area (I live in Eureka CA). I know a group of guys are planning a trip to Crater Lake later this year. Maybe we could get together in the Lassen/Shasta area for a pre-crater-lake trip!

yeah not many trees to the east (can you hang from sagebrush?); but to the west we have plenty of trees; Mt Lassen looks like a nice place.
Welcome to the forums! It's the best place to learn about hammocking.
A lot of good people and info here on the forum. From the Gulf Coast of Alabama...Welcome.

Hi! Welcome to the forums (i'm new too). I'm up in Portland now but grew up in Medford/Klamath Falls. Thinking of headed back down south and to test my new fangled hammock out!
I grew up in K-Falls; been all over and now settled back to
Oregon
Hello from south east Washington
My husband and I are planning a trip to Medford, Crater Lake, Mt. Shasta area the late part of July. We will fly into Portland for a visit with our daughter, then on to Medford. We have an old caving buddy from Ohio who is now living off grid on a mountainside with a view of Mt. Shasta. He has been busy building his homestead, and not done much touring in the area yet. Any advice for some must sees, or advice for the best one day tour of Crater Lake would be appreciated. I will have my Switchback along "just in case" but we are not actually camping.
Whoooo! Yay for another person for Oregon!!!!
Some day there will be an Oregon group hang!
Some of my freight hopping adventures on film over at my YouTube Channel... Oh and there is other stuff there as well!
