    Wisconsin Winter Hang!

Mend your mittens and pack your parka! Anyone up for a January hang in northern Wisconsin? I'll be hanging out all winter and would love to see some of my HF family out there too! The Nicolet National Forest makes for a great weekend trip or the Northern Highland State Forest in Boulder Junction for a 3-4 nighter.

    Dates January 13-15 or 12-16

I know this is up pretty early but I wanted to keep things flexible for now.

I would love to finally make it to one of these midwest hangs. My schedule is always a crap shoot though. We'll see as the dates get closer.

6 hours away is a little far for that time of year for me. But, you guys have a blast and take tons of photos!

I wonder if beep will be hosting another frozen butt hang. Last years was much too far to drive with the snow conditions here in WI at the time. This will be the Wisconsin equivalent. I would really like to do a 3 night 4 day trip to make it really worth while for those traveling from distances.

I would also like to mention that this hangout has the potential for sub zero temperatures and is not the best time to test out brand new gear. Both locations mentioned for possible sites have clear footpaths for snowshoeing. The sites are primitive at most. There is plenty of standing dead wood and lots of good trees to hang from.

I'm not sure I'll be in a position to organize a winter hang this season, but I'm up for attending one (schedule permitting).

Nicolet would be an interesting alternative for those of us who can't drive all the way to the Mt. Rogers winter hang!
Count me in as a strong tentative.
