My first DIY Hammock for kids

Well, I didn't win the kids bridge hammock from Two Sticks so I had to make my own

My first kids size, gathered end, with net & zipper, single, hammock.

It's based on the Blackbird but without a Foot Box or Shelf. It's regular rip stop nylon. The zipper cost more than the fabric!
Now my son and I are ready for the woods! We're gonna sleep outside tonight. No need for and under quilt for him, I can just fold the bottom half of the sleeping bag underneath him.

My wife asked me to swap out the rope suspension on the hammock I made for her to a webbing-based suspension similar to my Blackbird. I wanted to make the change ready for this weekend, but wasn't able to find cinch buckles or inexpensive descending rings locally, so I noodled out a cheap solution until I can get some buckles from Paul.

I grabbed the BRIGHT yellow lashing straps from Harbor Freight, cut about a foot from the end with the friction cam and looped it on itself to create a HEAVY attachment point on the hammock Then I sewed a loop on one end of the 11 foot piece of strap and added a 'biner. Now she has a hammock that is easy to hang and adjust without my help.

I'm posting this in the kids thread because our youngest had to try it out first. This kid NEVER naps, and she was out cold in just a few minutes. I may have to install her hammock in her room to encourage better sleep.

Great looking hammocks!! It's a great feeling when you have a happy kid, but even better when they are happy in their very own hammock!!!! Nice job all!!!
