    Positioning

As a newbie I never have used a UQ. I was curious as to the coverage and how you keep them in place under you when you lie on a diagonal. Seeing as most UQ seem to be attached by shock cord or such towards the ends of the hammock it would appear that the UQ would always be aligned on the center axis of the hammock. It would also seem to be more of a problem as the UQ gets smaller IE 1/2,2/3,3/4 lengths or the hammock got wider allowing a more pronounced diagonal lay. Is it that the UQs are made wide enough to not be a problem. I'm getting ready to make a few UQ and am trying to decide on what sizes, shapes and how I want to attach them. I have a idea but wanted to know how the diagonal issue is delt with on current designs and is it something I really needed to be concerned about.

I have puzzled over this, too.

At this stage of the hammock game, most under quilts are made to fit a wide variety of hammocks, and accomodate a similarly wide variety of sleeping styles.

For a do it yourselfer, an assymetric uq fitted to one particular hammock/sleeper should be easily doable, and will do it's job better than the universal fit quilts.
