Great set-up HamMike! Nice space with lots of flexibility. You always want to dig below the Frost line (38-48") to prevent movement of the post. Especially important with the lateral forces of a 6ft post. I will use gravel next time too to prevent rot even though I use treated wood.

I have a pair set up in my yard. After seeing your set up I may just have to add a third and complete the triangle.
I was just talking about doing this very thing in my backyard....course, then my wife pointed out we already have two posts thanks to the covered back porch, so we only need one free-standing one sunk about 15-16 feet straight out from the middle of the porch -- voila! Instant triangle
