The West Marine here in SE Michigan has to order it, so I ended up getting it through Redden Marine. As a matter of fact, I just got my package today. And I went with 1/8 because it makes me feel better about the weight load.

I make slings from both the 7/64 and the 1/8th. Both are well stronger than needed for holding up any of us but there are some things about the 1/8 that make it still useful, like if you are wearing gloves I think the 1/8th would be a little easier to get a grip on.

    1/8"

I got mine 1/8" from West Marine. I did not want to wait for a internet order to ship or pay shipping cost. West Marine wanted .43 a foot I told them that Redding Marine had it for .34 a foot and they matched it.

A big plus with the 1/8" is that it's easier to splice than the 7/64.

I'll just throw a shoutout to Paul on this one. I ordered 1/8" whoopies from him during the recent Memorial Day sale and they just came in the mail today... phenomenal stuff. They may be double the price, but an extra $13 gives me infinite peace of mind and are worth every penny for me. Either way, you can't go wrong.
