    Cleaning Silnylon

    .

I need to clean my tarp ridgeline seam to seal it. Any tips on the best way to clean silnylon? Is rubbing alchohol OK to use?

hmm--what's on it that needs to be cleaned off? In my experience the stuff is so slippy just soap and water do the trick.

Alcohol is fine. I use it to clean pine sap off of my tarp. You can use rubbing or denatured. It's great for cleaning of dust before you seam seal.

Just don't put it in the dryer...

I did that with a silnylon rainfly recently. I was just using air fluff with no heat, which works really well, but I opened the dryer to test how dry it was and when I closed the door I didn't realize that it had switched back to normal heat. It's no longer waterproof...

AH But what I THINK you mean is...
    IF you use a dryer.
    Put it on AIR FLUFF
ENSURE it is on AIR FLUFF
Ok to use a dryer this way
