I looked through my posts and didn't see any into that I posted? Might-of missed something? Anywho...so here goes....
I have always enjoyed being outside--except when air is over-humid and feels like "air you could wear" which is the case along the gulf coast for sure...soon to be air one can burn thanks to the accident in the gulf.
So, since I am an avid youtube watcher, I first ran into Tinny and his stoves. I was very impressed! I watched almost all of his videos and then heard him mention "Shug." Well, I watched Shug's videos next--all of them about 4-10 times over and have had to start taking medicines since.
Shug, you CRACK ME UP!!!! He had an awful lot of info to digest and a new topic--hammocks and unicycles. It surprised me just how much information I could use to simply (if I could use that term?) hang and sleep in a hammock.
I was never a hammocker in the past. I spent about 13 years combined overseas (Japan, Italy, Germany.....) riding my beemer motorcycle through the Alps, passes, near great vistas and blue lakes in Switzerland, Austria and slept in a tent during those times--my back still hurts.
Getting out and planning and actually going on many vacations has been wonderful. I haven't done much since hurricane Katrina, where I lost my house and all but wanted to go, but couldn't for a while.
Now, I have a steady job and have started getting things together for the HF hang in October in the Linville Gorge! I am very excited to have that chance to meet you guys and get some expert advice on how-to's and what-nots.
So, as an introduction, some of you have already accepted me as a friend and that is wonderful and others of you I have yet to meet to do the same (in person or video).
I am stoked, buying some gear, weeding out old stuff, weighing and getting ready to launch again!
Thanks to Tinny and Shug, I have a plan, am sticking to it and my wallet is crying, yelling, but I will be there Lord willing in October.
Linville Gorge, Here I come!!!
