Nice project and good explanation. While I just completed my summer UQ, I may have to try this out some day. Thanks!

May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. - Ed Abbey
great job and description. This helps me out big time on my current uq project.

I know this has been somewhat ressurrected, but it is the first time I have seen it, and it looks like a great alternative for someone like me, trying to collect some gear on the cheap to get started! I think this coupled with a sleeping bag as a blanket may get me well on my way. Thanks!
awesome illustration, as usual. Might I humbly ask the weight on one of these?
A good caver never loses her pack.
A freshly weighed PLUQ in my gear closet comes in at 20 oz. This includes a layer or two of Insultex.
Just a quick bump for the folks searching for PLUQ info.

This is MOST excellent. Love it! What a great idea and fantastic write up. I will definitely try this out some time soon!
