sounds like a great idea!! good way of keeping the old gear alive.

To me a lush carpet of pine needles or spongy grass is more welcome than the most luxurious Persian rug.

I got the box today and will send it out tomorrow!
There is some great stuff in it and some stuff that may be great for someone who has a need for a particular item... is that vague enough?
In order to get it in the mail quickly, I will send it to the first person who has already posted to this thread previously and sends me an address via PM.
In addition, I am willing to start a second box but in order to have enough good stuff to make it worthwhile, I'd like some help. If you would like to help with box numero dos with a contribution (either sent to me or I'll send to you) let me know. We can do this through PM as well to keep from clogging up the original thread. I'm thinking all we need to make a second box worthwhile is a few folks with a few items each in addition to what I'll include.
Alright, Sign me up... Lord knows I have enough to trade..
Thanks for getting it going

I'm drawn to the open country. Its where the world makes the most sense. When I put myself out there I always return with something new.
Wow, just catching up on this! Would love to be included and I have stuff in the gear closet that should be worthy!! Please count me in!
I want to make sure I'm on the same page as everyone else. So, that being said, are we supposed to send a pm to the current box holder or does the box holder just pick out someone that's in the PIF and send it to them?
I lied, it went out earlier than planned, today before lunch.
I sent it USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate - that means officially it should be in Knoxville in about 3-5 days. Now that I've said that, it came to me from further away I think and I am pretty sure it made it in 2-3 days at that postage rate.
It's a medium sized flat rate box and I sent it with more than I took out so it is packed full.
Shipping tips FWIW:
Unless you replace what you take with a smaller volume item/s you may want to move to the Large size flat rate box. The person who sent it to me did use priority mail but did not use a flat rate box and paid $16.++ for less weight and volume than I sent out for $10.70.
The larger flat rate box is available free from the post office and ships for $14.70.
The agreed upon way was for the box holder to pick someone, PM them for an address and then send it their way.
I did not think to get the next recipient's address ahead of time while the box was enroute to me so I asked folks to PM me so I could get an address to send it more quickly than me PM someone and wait to ship it until then PM'd me back.
Late to this thread, but what a great idea. My Dad always told me to make something good better, share it. This seems a great way to do it. Kinda hard to get a canoe in that box though.
So, I would enjoy being a part of this and sharing both what arrives and what I can pay forward. How fun is this!!!

I would like to join in as well. I know after it leaves my house it'll have to be in an upgraded box lol. I got plenty of crap to put in and pay forward.
