Jerry Chair FAIL!

I got to see a Jerry Chair up close for the first time at this past weekend's WNC overnighter and was impressed. I figured it looked easy enough to sew, so I gave it a shot. FAIL! Didn't go so well at all. I have some material left over (coated ripstop 1.9 in woodland MARPAT camo) and still would love a Jerry Chair. Anyone interested in volunteering/selling their mad thread injecting skills? I'll gladly send the material, pay all shipping and a nominal fee for services provided. Curious, what made it a failure? This is going to be one of my first projects when I get a new injector and I'd kind of like to know the pitfalls as my injecting skills are far removed from "mad".

The failure points on a Jerry Chair are the seams of the pole pocket. Is that where your chair failed, Jay?

Don't give up Hooch... Use some cheap fabric to work with. After you get it down, then use your good stuff...

Failure Points:

1) Crappy thread injecting skills
2) Poor cutting (no pattern, so was just winging it)
3) Crappy thread injector (Wally World cheap-o special)
4) Crappy thread injecting skills (Yeah, I know I said it already, but it bears repeating)

I'd like to make another go of it, but I don't think that I have enough material for a third try if a second attempt isn't successful. I bought this material about 3 years ago and had it hanging around without much use outside of the occasional stuff sack and a couple BB Sacks. I'd really like to be able to get a Jerry Chair out of it if I can, but my thread injecting skills just aren't up to par to make it happen.
