    Best option I've found

I highly reccomend 2Q&ZQ's Peak Bag ... just the perfect spot to store a weapon ... or anything you might feel you need at night. Easy access and works great.

Their Ridgeline organizer distributes the weight better than most mesh bags and you can actually use that effectively ... unless you're carrying something like a Desert Eagle 50 cal!

Seriously ... check out the Peak Bags they make ...

NOTE: I did add a strap inside my DIY Peak Bag ... and my 2QZQ bag to better secure the weapon so that when I open the bag I don't get a rap on the noggin!

WARNING: Will discuss Rhurbarb Strawberry Pie and Livermush at random.

I have tried a couple of different options over the past few months.

Number 1 was the shelf of the WBBB. I wound up not liking this due to access issues. Having to reach up and over in an emergency didn't appeal to me. It is also less under my direct control on the outside of the hammock.

Number 2 was a bag similar to the peak bag that Hawkeye mentions above. I do like this and it is convenient.

Number 3: is in holster in an open la gear pistol bag that can be rigged to the side of the hammock for easy access. Works fine.

Number 4 is binered in a mesh bag on the ridgeline. I wasn't happy with this solution. But it might work ok with a lighter pistol than the Glock 21.

I apologize. I didn't think that it was at all bad (not even breaking a PG rating). However, I asked my wife and she thought that you were right. lol. Sorry.

I keep my Glock 19 on the shelf of my Blackbird. Seems to work for me.

I'm afraid my Slap Straps wouldn't handle the weight of my Ruger .45 . Actually, that's also the reason I don't often carry it on trips.
If the wife would let me carry her P9, it would fit nice in the ENO side pocket.

Hawk is right. The 2Q&ZQ's Peak Bag is designed with a pistol in mind.
