I have a DD hammock, and I now plan to buy a tarp to cover it.

I wondered what size tarps you preferred, I am thinking of a 3x3 metre (10ftx10ft) or a 3x4 meter (10ftx13ft), which would you choose?

Ah, I should have said that I will be canoeing or bushcrafting. I will not be walking far with it.

Bigger is better in the case of you are canoeing. No real weight penalty, I'd recommend the big tarp.

IMO, any tarp with less than 10' ft of coverage on the ridgeline is too small.

I have an 8'X10' tarp and a 10X12, and for some reason I always carry the 10X12. It only weighs a few ounces more, and the extra coverage is great. I say go with the bigger.

I would say 10' x 12' just because if you add the right tie outs; you can close the ends (doors) so as to give you just that little bit of additional coverage.

My go to size is 10x12 ... ridgeline being the 12 footer.
