    Any one make Snake skins?

I used the snake skins that came with my HH explorer to cover just the Hammock.

I wanted a couple of small sets to cover the A-sym and large Hex tarp.

I really like the ease of pack up with the skins.
    DAVE.

Nobody can make and sell them without going up against Tom Hennessy.
Buuuuuuut, there is a handy-dandy instructional on how to make your very own in the DIY area of the Article Section of the Forum. Here's a handy-dandy link.

What he patented the snake skins?? Yeah I could make some on my sewing machine, just thought I would rather pay a member then buy a bunch of material for a couple of skins.

I guess I'll make some, since I don't need large ones for just a tarp.

Yes the "snakeskins" are a patented product. Go figure. JRB used to have a pattern on their site for "python skins" and it mysteriously disappeared and has not resurfaced on their site.

Not to open a discussion of patents, but the Byer Hammock Sock (not the same as Just Jeff's idea) and something else called a hammock sleeve are on the market. I didn't see any patent claims on the idea; furled flags have been similarly protected for some time, I believe. I don't see why someone couldn't make something similar for you if it fit your needs. Still, it'd probably be cheaper to just buy the Hennessy product if that's got the features you want.

Yeah I might just buy some from HH if I don't have time to make them.

Just wanted thinner ones to hold just the tarp, not as thick as the large ones for the full hammock.
    DAVE.
