    10oz Summer quilt

    I guys, I haven't posted in some time, but I made a new quilt a few weeks ago for Summer and it is working out great.

    I made it using 1.1oz ripstop and then by cutting off a very thin layer Climashield. I sewed it up like a normal quilt and sewed in a foot box, but I couldn't believe how light it is. I made it a little big, and could have shaved an ounce or two off, but I like to curl up. It compresses very well, and when I get a chance I will post some pics.

    Just thought I would share the whole separating Climashield thing for some of yall to try out.

    wow, that's a great weight for a summer quilt. I made my summer UQ with climashield and it tops out at 13oz. My summer down top quilt is right at a pound. Love the climashield for summer rainy hot humid nights. This is my second summer packing mine and (so far) I haven't seen any breakdown in the climashield from stuffing and unstuffing it inside my backpack. Happy camping with yours....

    For summer TQ (above 55*F), I made a short and narrow TQ...specs:
    1.1 ripstop with 2.5 oz /yd climashield...36"x51" with a footbox...8oz!!

    good idea for a summer quilt Preacherman...enjoy!

    Ok here are the pics I have it in a Sil Stuff sack, but it isn't stuffed by far and compresses very nicely.
