I have not been to New Zealand. But if I had the time and money I sure would like to.

YES!!! Wow ..... terrific country. I have been to the North Islands and to Wellington and to the Milford Walk. Did not camp .... I was performing on a cruise ship.
It is so beaufiful ... the land and people. And the lamb and fish and chips are delectable!

Been down that way in the past, just a pity you boys don't play rugby very well eh
Jokes aside chap, A "bok" here - what happened in the super 14 this year? I trust you guys will sort yourselves out for the tri-nations.
Talking sport - the "All Whites" are strutting their stuff at the WC - where the heck did you guys learn to play footie like that?
Now if you planing to come that far north , you may as well bring that bow and throw a decent fly rod in and come up to Vancouver, nothing like a nice Chinook or coho on the fly to get that kiwi blood a boiling - then maybe a deer or a elk with the bow if you have time, plan for late September first week October for the best Salmon - good hunting around then aswell.
I have a large house in Vancouver, lots of Brits come and visit around salmon time and few Saffers around hunting time - You are more than welcome- bring your hammock along - I have a warm basement if push comes to shove.

I have been to the N. Island camping, and would do it again. Beautiful place! I don't think you can go wrong, trekking is like a national past time there. If you take a tent or tarp etc make sure you clean it well or you won't get it into the country with dirt, bugs or bird poop on it. I took my tent but never used it as we stayed in the huts the whole time. Highly recommend NZ.
Good luck,
