I wish! I can't afford to be a gram weenie. Thanks everyone for the suggestions, I've tried each and am happy with the results. Though I'll eventually settle for one, it's good to know how to do them all.

I usually wrap the line around the stake, and then bring it back to the tarp for a trucker's hitch at the tarp's plastic D-ring. It's easy and uses up any extra line so it's not laying around on the ground.
For my Smokies trip earler this month, I got 4 black plastic nite-ize and permanently attached them to the ground hogs with the loop that came on the stakes. Very quick and easy to set it up.
I got those b/c I almost broke my wrist a couple days before the trip, and I was still wearing the brace for the hike. I made sure I could still tie knots and everything before I went, but these made a quick setup much easier. Should have another x-ray tomorrow to confirm...it's still pretty tender so I might have a hairline fracture that didn't show up on the first x-ray.
Anyway, check out the nite-ize...they're so convenient that I'll probably use them on most trips from now on. Just make sure you know what to do if you lose one!
“Republics are created by the virtue, public spirit, and intelligence of the citizens. They fall when the wise are banished from the public councils because they dare to be honest, and the profligate are rewarded because they flatter the people, in order to betray them.” ~Judge Joseph Story
