Heading north this coming weekend on my first wilderness hammock outing I'm doing a three day solo canoe trip, and don't want to hit the hard Ontario granite with my tender backside.
My plan is to use the stock Hennessey suspension, but with a Marlin Spike Hitch (MSH) tied on the line. (Carabiner as the toggle) The line will run through the loops on the tree huggers. The video's I've seen of the MSH (Grizz's for example), tie a hitch in the webbing, then run the cord around the toggle and tie a second hitch in the line. Is the toggle in the webbing necessary? Will running through the loop on the strap be sufficient?
Thanks for any help.
