Anyone have any suggestions on the best method to tie a line to a MSR Ground Hog Stake? I am fairly new (and bad) at knots and so forth, so any suggestions with accompanying videos, detailed instructions, pics, or links would be most appreciated.
I've been searching the Internet for an hour (on an iPod) and can't find anything.

I switched over my three tarps with Opie's Tarp Guy Lines that has a section of silicone tubing as a tensioner, and a convenient prusik loop.
It makes putting the tarp up fast and easy, especially in the rain. Can't beat it... Opies' workmanship is top notch.

I tie the line to a self-tensioning device which is permanently attached to the stake. The other end of the line is attached to the tarp with a Penberthy knot. See TeeDee's post:

To store the line, wrap it around the stake, and put the stake in a pocket sew into the edge of the tarp at the tie-out point.
i use the stakes from the HF store and love them ...and there not bad on the pocket book.....
there are alot of ways to go about this....best thing to do is look around and see what option will work best for you
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold
I prefer a simple marlinspike hitch at the stake, with the stake as the spike. It ties in only a second or so, can be tied at any point on the line at will, and releases smoothly.

I've been using this method for my aux tie outs..
Easy on, easy off and very secure even with the smooth braided dacron guyline cord I got from ultralight designs.
the 4 main corners I use a DIY adjustable tarp tensioner so I attached via the fixed eye loops similar to opies tarp tie out.
