Rookie with ENO Bug Gaurdian Question

I am brand new to the world of hammocks, My onelink came in yesterday and I set it up to give a test before camping this weekend. When I set up the hammock, bug gaurdian, then enter the hammock. I see two holes open on each end of the hammock. The gaurdian has the ropes to draw tight over the hammock ends, the pressure of someone in the hammock pulls down the ropes and opening the ends ( I know this is wordy but I lack to hammock vocab to accuratly describe sorry). Anyone else had this problem? and help would be great ?

It sounds like you might be pulling the suspension to tight. Try setting your straps higher on your anchor points.

are you saying when you get in the hammock the ends of the big net open up? are you using the ENO slapstraps? based on my experience the slapstraps stretch A LOT. them stretching might be leading to the net opening. but i could be wrong. Im a newbie too. if this is the problem i would change the suspension to something less stretchy.

When I used the ENO bugnet I never tied the guy line all that taught. I recall I was able to sinch down the ends of the bug net pretty good however it wasn't completely shut off.

I have this hammock / net and if I pictured it write you have some of the hammock fabric coming out the hole ? If so put more sag in your hammock so ONLY the black ropes and the carabiners stick of the holes. tighten the draw cords real tight around the ropes . A hammock ridgeline will help you keep right sag evertime. Also using the two lines that are attached to the ends of the bugnet pulled tight and tide to something will help keep the net sag free.

I don't tie out the ropes on the guardian when I use mine. I just cinch it around my hammock suspension and let my hammocks ridgeline hold the bugnet up. The net might sag a little lower. But, I still have plenty of room, and have never noticed any holes.

I am using the slap straps and they do stretch, so GReat advice I will try more sag in hammock and not tie the bug net ridgeline and adjust the suspension height . Thanks everyone

    Eno bug Question

I recently purchased an ENO DBN. I've made a couple of modifications that have really seemed to help. I'm still in the process of replacing these worthless Slap Straps with Whoopie Slings from Opie. The Structural Ridge line is made with 7/64 Amsteel.
