    Weathered the Storm

Today for about 45 minutes it stormed like the end of times. Rain and wind, wind and rain. The gutters on the house were overflowing.

I had my ENO Double set up in the yard (where I sleep) with my USGI bug net over it. All I had over it for weather protection was a USGI Poncho. It was attached at the head and foot, and each side with combo parachute cord/elastic lines. AT the top of the head and foot was tied a sock to stop the line run. I watched off the porch as it blew like a kite. The elastic let the whole thing "breath".

After it was over I checked an the entire hammock along with my quilts was bone dry

The USGI Poncho is only 7.5 by 5.5. The custom tarp I have being made is 8.5 X 8.5 so I will have more to work with. Just kind of proud of myself I guess for making what I had work.- George

    Good job.

You got the storm that went through here yesterday... It was a doozie for sure. I was sitting on an open cab dozer when it hit.

Any chance of getting a picture of this set up? It would speak volumes as far as letting everyone know just what works in a "real" rainstorm.
