What type of splice tool are you using in these demos? Thanks.

Wolverine... SS leader wire. I got the idea from Gringo. If you go to Bass Pro shops website and type in "leader wire" youll get several options. They carry Malin Hard Wire. .035 works well for 7/64 and 1/8. Right now Im using .024 for anything smaller. I may try the .022 when I need to order more.

Recently I used a strand of wire from telephone wire(the 4 strand kind), it still hand the insulation on it. I was able to make a soft shackle using 1.75 zing it/lash it. I had to work it a little bit, but it still worked. I have not tried it with anything larger but I am sure that it should work for it too.

I just got my zing-it in from Redden Marine -- can't believe how THIN that stuff is! I'm definitely going to have to get a thin wire of some sort to thread this stuff through...

Any pics of the zing-it shackle?

Any hollow core braided line will work. Just a warning zing-it is not rated for supporting you!

Use the same technique as the video describes. Opie's site has a few examples.

As requested, here is the zing it soft shackle...

As you can see, for now I am using it to wrangle some small loops that will be used as prusiks on my tarp. If it was shorter it would be a great key chain (I used the lengths in the tutorial and it's about the size of my mouse).

Sorry, but can you explain the back splices just a little? One last thing, I'm pretty sure I know what is meant by dressing the knot, but what about getting the back splices under the stopper knot? That should about do it. I apologize for taking up your time. Thanks.

The backsplice is basically pulling the end of the line inside itself. I also have some update measurements I'll post when I get home this evening.

Anyone know how this compares to the strength numbers of the nacrabiner?

Also, I use the wire core from coax cable bent in half to do my splicing. Works great!
