JRB Underquilt - Long or regular?

I am going to buy two JRB Old Rag Mtn quilts for some late fall/winter hiking. I am 6 feet tall exactly.

I'm fairly certain that I will get the LONG quilt for the overquilt but I would like to hear opinions on what size to get for the underquilt. Would the Long be too long for me? Would it be any more difficult to get situated right? Anyone else out there use a long JRB quilt (of any model, actually not just the Old Rag Mtn) for an underquilt

I asked that question in this thread:

I'm 5'10" and the answer I got was that the regular would work for me as a top quilt. For you, I suspect you'll need the long. As an underquilt, the regular works fine up to 6' 4", according to Pan.

That's because you lay on the diagonal, not top to bottom. For a quilt though, you are top to bottom.
    Peace,

Great. Thanks! Just to be safe, I think I will order them in two separate orders. I'll get the long first because I KNOW I will want it on the top and just try it on the bottom to see how it is.

I'm 6' 1" and the regular underquilt is enough.

I use a regular Nest as my under quilt and a long Stealth as my over quilt. I am 6'3" and this combo works perfect for me.

I just ordered two different quilts and both in long, even if I am only 5´9".
The reason being, I like to pull any blanket/sleeping bag over my head when lying down, because I am a very cold sleeper. And since its not always clear which quilt will be on top, both have to be long.
The minor differences in price and weight dont matter in the long run, IMO.
On a side note, in the course of October the new "Rocky Mountain No Sniveller" will be available, which is basically the "Old Rag Mtn" with a headhole.

Well I didn't have the cash to buy two now and I really needed something warmer for the underside so I went with the regular on the Old Rag Mtn. Just ordered it. Let's hope it will keep me warm enough for the Long Trail in October. The Nest just wasn't cutting it for those temps for me.
