    addiction - the next generation

This is my nephew Neal. He picked out the fabric for his hammock himself, sewed the side hems and the end channels himself (supervised by grandma, but he did the work), and then built one of his own whoopie slings while following along and watching me build the other one. He's spending pretty much every waking moment either in the hammock or waiting while he lets his little sister take a turn in it. His next project will probably be to make one for her.

Way to go! Your passing on the passion to the next generation. Good on you and a hearty ATTA-BOY to Neal!

    Update:

After helping Neal make his hammock, grandma (my mom) has bought fabric for her hammock and had me make her a set of whoopie slings. With her level of sewing ability, it'll probably take longer to get the sewing machine out of the closet than it will to actually put the hems in. She'll be the queen of the patio as soon as she gets a free evening.
