    Hammock sighting:
I saw an Outback Steakhouse commercial. It started out with a bridge hammock hung off the back of a white Land Rover (maybe?) the other end to a tree. Only tree around. Just a quick glimpse of the set-up.
Re the guy with the tommy gun. Thats WW2 Marine corps cammo. The loop in the bottom of the hammock is for hanging an M-1 Garand from to keep it out of the mud. The label definitely is different than the one on my WW2 GI jungle hammock. The ropes were waxed hemp, which made them kinda shine. Sorry, I have neither The equipment or the expertise to post pix.

Looking at it for a second time... I think this is a fake. Top right the cord looks nice and shiney like modern nylon. The Camo outfit? Did I see this in the original 'Blob' movie? Be careful I think the gun might squirt

Grok, I have seen several WWII hammocks in ebay lately, and this is the real thing. The fly was of waxed cotton and had some kind of elastic cord at the ends, not too different of a bungee cord. The camo was what the Marines used at the time, and yes you probably saw it at the original Blob movie

Had not yet being able to get me one with the magical condition/price ratio, like in very good/very cheap.

Got me a M1966 one though, new but whitout the poncho suspension, only the ropes, but at only 25 Dlls its an unbeatable deal. The ones complete have been languishing for more than 2 months over and over and yet nobody has bought them for 60 up to 90 dlls. It is quite snuggy at 32x90 inches, but inserting a 28x1 inches broom handle or bamboo at the head end as suggested in the label makes it lots better.

Just today I got a new email from ebay about this auction. It has a lot of detailed pictures of the parts of the hammock, a WWII jungle hammock. Now that I see it, seems to be too narrow for me anyway, but in the photos it seems good. Usually guys who sell this hammocks show just one or two photos.
