Just wondering what the advantage of using Dutch Clips would be in comparison to using webbing with a carabiner or using webbing and just running the free end through the opposite webbing eye ?
Thanks.

Weight is the main advantage.
Compared to the carabiner, it's lighter and more compact.
Compared to running through the free end of the webbing, it has less friction to wear down your webbing, and is quicker to set up. Also, some types of webbing suspension setups don't work particularly well running through the open eye, such as webbing and cinch buckles, where the webbing usually stays attached to the hammock.
you can also toggle the tree end of your strap. Thats even lighter still.
the Dutch clip is very simple too....just hook and go....and you can leave then on the straps and there ready to go at any moment ..
also the new ones are under an oz now for the pair ....
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold
I haven't been able to get my head around the advantages of Dutch clips yet. The weight advantage seems negligible to me.... I use the Black Diamond Oz carabiners and love them. 28g each and they clip to the edge of my hammock stuff sack for quick deployment. Price for two would be pretty comparable to dutch clips.
