My problem with the overstock.com quilts and throws is the quality of the down. IMO a synth quilt would be just as effective. But that's me. Most of their stuff is low fill power and a mix of down and feathers. Not the best combination but HYOH.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

    shape too

I looked at something like this too but the shape bothered me. I just thought there would be too much material and I would end up having to fold it over on its length. I even think a comforter sized for a single bed might be too wide.

If you know someone who can sew, it might be cheaper to buy bulk down on-line and have a blanket sewn to the size and volumne you want.

I slept this weekend in warm clothes and didn't use a TQ at all. I had my sleeping bag as a back-up. I don't think just warm clothes will work in the Fall.

Another summer option, if you aren't fiixated on weight, would be a fleece bag from WALMART or a fleece liner (a mid weight one) from someplace like REI.

Keep looking for low cost solutions, they are out there.

I think that the "throw" size (third link) would be fine in a hammock, the blanket / comforter sizes are too big. You can find the same thing (throws) at wal-mart / target. As Ramblinrev mentions, the quality of the down isn't great and I don't know that the throw would pack up very small but for $15 it's not a terrible choice for a first TQ while you are figuring things out.

After thinking it over and doing more research. I have decided too just make a TQ. I have a friend who makes packs and he said he would help me get started.

    Thanks for all the input.
