So I love my Warbonnet Superfly.
But I would like a lighter weight cuben or spinn tarp too.
And...in the age of the Internet where I have been trained to be able to order just about anything within a few minutes...I am frustrated.
I am not good at waiting. Well, I should amend that and say that I am fine with waiting after I know something has been purchased and is on it's way. But I am not so good with waiting to buy once I have set my mind and wallet to the task.
I thought I had a custom cuben tarp lined up. But unfortunately the builder is busy with other projects. No big deal. I respect that he has other commitments. Since there is a paucity of other cuben tarp providers, and I have the specific desire for an a minimum 11' ridge line in either a hex or square design, I am finding no commercially available cuben tarps that fit this bill.
So I started looking at SpinnTex tarps. Both OES and WB have tarps I like that fit the bill, but......ARGH! Brian is on vacation in Germany and will not be filling orders until August, and Brandon's Mamajamba spinn is out of stock, he is waiting to receive more spinn from his supplier, and I see has now shut down orders for a couple weeks.
Do I need a new tarp before August (or September for that matter)? Nooooo.
Do I want a new tarp to play with before then? Heck yah!
I have looked at MLD tarps...and for one reason or another ( perhaps not even rationally) they don't do it for me. Know of any other suppliers that have what I need?
I suppose I could buy the fabric and DIY. But free time for me these days is more valuable than money and I still haven't gotten around to building that bridge hammock I was going to start months ago.
What's a poor gear junkie to do?
