    Hangin' in Oregon

Hey all! Some friends got me into using a hammock and I must say, it is quite a beautiful thing!

I have my own hammock, but recently got a ENO DoubleNest for the wife and I. We have tested it out some but haven't taken it backpacking with us yet to properly christen it.

The Eno is super comfy but I do have a few questions. Any suggestion on techniques to getting in (mostly for the second person)? Also, any suggestions on a tarp that would provide adequate cover and is fairly light and inexpensive?

    Thanks for the input!

    Jason

Welcome...never slept two in the same hammock before, so can't help you with that question. There are a lot of good options for you on tarps, including DIY. Take your time and research tarps on this forum...and by all means, watch the Shug videos that will help answer a lot of your questions on all types of equipment.

While not inexpensive, I have a Superfly tarp from Warbonnet. It is all that I had expected and more. I also have a $15 tarp from Harbor Freight. It weighs a lot more but does a good job as well.

Make sure you guys try sleeping a full night together in the hammock around home somewhere, before you get out there and HAVE to spend the night together. You could also take the second hammock for a trip or two to bail out into if need be. One thing that concerns me about two in a hammock is whether or not the pads will both fit. A large underquilt, I imagine, would work better.

Did you get the One Link system or just the hammock with out a bugnet and tarp??

As you know my preference for tarps is a cat cut 12x10 hung over the both of us. I just finished my DIY 12.5x10 and will be christening it this weekend. I'll make sure to get some pics to show off when I get back....unless it's a complete disaster... Oh what the heck, I'd show those too! For posterity and all.

We'll miss you guys this weekend.
