When packing an ENO Double is the attached pouch your best bet?

Hey all so I was wondering how most people carry their ENO's. I know they have an attached pouch but is craming it all in there the best thing for the Hammock. Do you think you may extend the life of the ENO if kept loose in a stuff sack?

Why not? I do.
The fabric is so soft and flexible it has done no harm in the half dozen years or so I've had mine.
(just get rid of those industrial "'biners", way too heavy. And the slap strap too)

I have had an ENO clone (same material, less cost) for about 5 years. I always keep it stuffed in the pouch it comes with. I have had no issues with it and I am a bigger guy.

I don't know that it affects the ware of the hammock but I keep mine in a customized stuff sack (black bishop style) for quicker set up.

Well I for one just didn't like that little stuff sack on my eno single so I cut it off and made one.

I carefully removed the cinch strap and buckle. It didn't really make it smaller. I'm gonna make a stuff sack big enough to hold it, the bug net and my underquilt. That should make deployment faster.

The reason you have to be particular with a tent is because folding the tent on the same crease every time will lead to a weakening of the nylon material eventually causing a tear (think folding and unfolding a piece of plastic over and over again). The stuff sack on the ENO (or any hammock for that matter) makes (the potential) for about as random a fold as I could imagine for the purpose. Don't fold it up carefully, then roll it up, then place it in its sack. Instead, stuff it in there bit by bit to ensure a random packing each time.

Absolutely. Why they belittle themselves by adding such junk is beyond me.

I own several of the DN, and have not encountered any problems in stuffing them in the little attached pouch.
I have taken the heavy strap off though. I didn't notice any more compression having them on there either.
