I just watched the video in amazement!If this guy is some kind of survival school teacher, I'll take my chances on my own! I couldn't believe what I was watching.
I scrolled down to the comment page and it's been disabled. So.....we can't reply and try to tell people the RIGHT way to hang a hammock!
I only hope people will see the good, proper vids that will show them the safe way to hang. That won't hurt the trees OR the hanger.

I really hate when people disable comments on youtube. Its either because they know the content is crap or they are too much of a weenie to handle the critics. Plenty of times I've found value in the negative comments for my vids.
Well, I guess an apology is in order. It just gets me that people post how-to videos when they clearly don't know what they're talking about.
What he needs is someone to show him the proper way to hang a hammock, and THEN do a video.

Isn't disabling comments an infringement of your 1st Amendment rights? I believe this guy served in the military. I guess he doesn't believe in what he fought for.

First Amendment rights only really guarantee that the government and its entities aren't allowed to impinge on your rights to free speech. Private citizens, privately owned companies, youtube ... all do not fall under 1st Amendment.Originally Posted by Divine_Light
If you post a video/blog in a public forum, people don't have some legal 'right' to post differing opinions or disagreement free of censorship by the individual. It is however expected, and part of the experience. :-)
i like the amount of controversy this video has caused, it amuses me. that being said, this guy needs to actually educate himself rather than distributing this ignorance on the internet. and its not even hard! some people are too proud to step into HF and get some HIGHQUALITY learnin's
