I'm near Reading in Berkshire. Bought a HH Expedition from funklyleisure.co.uk which stocks the hex tarp as well which I might be investing in. I'm new to this so haven't been out properly yet, just test driving the hammock in the back garden.

FWIW I'm off to http://www.blackberrywood.com/ campsite soon. It caught my eye as the pitches are all individual glades in the woods. I emailed them and they said hammocks were OK, which is cool. You can light fires and use bbq's as well so it sounds pretty good for a quick weekend trip - will let you know.

Jim from Taunton, Somerset County here.

Lots of great wild hanging to be had down here, well worth a visit. We've got Exmoor, Dartmoor, Blckdowns and Quantocks right on our doorstep.

I'm looking forward to moving back to south Wales this year (fingers crossed) to enjoy some of the fabulous countryside in that part of the world.

Particularly have my sights set on this place: http://www.glynymulfarm.co.uk/

18 acres of woodland sounds pretty sweet. Anyone been and got some feedback for me?

I'm sure I'd heard on the bushcraft forums that Glynmul had been trashed now, don't take that as gospel though as I might have got the wrong place.

Ahh that's a shame. I did some hardcore googling and found the thread on bushcraft. It seems that the site is a victim of its own popularity if anything, but I've heard some good reports from off-season. Hopefully the woodland area is used less frequently than the flat ground.

Thanks for the heads up Shewie.

Belfast hanger howdy ! ... A short trip out of the city takes you to some lovely wooded areas, but there are massive restrictions on camping in wooded areas due to careless campers, but good relations with rangers keeps me able to continue wild camping.
Has to be leave no trace ... Or areas get spoilt very quickly.
Would be nice to meet up with any hangers in my area .... So anyone up for getting lashed with torrential rain and gales, give me a shout !

hi, I'm in Edinburgh. Looking to do Scotland end to end in stages when time allows. not sure what I am going to do with the hammock at the Cape Wrath section but I have plenty of time to work on some ground dwelling bivvy technique.
