    Purple birthday hammock

I just finished my daughter's birthday hammock. She got to pick the color (purple) and I did the rest. It's a Hennessy inspired hammock (hennessy fold whipping), purple DWR 1.9 ripstop, 96" #3 zipper with 2 double-sided pulls. I sewed the bugnetting on one side, and sewed the zipper on the other.

there are more pictures in my gallery or here.

She really likes it! I made her a bag to put it in out of the same purple DWR as well. She will get to try it out for real at MAHHA this weekend.

Can you make that in "adult" size? I love the purple, glad to see the young girls getting out there, congrats and happy birthday!

Thanks! Actually, the dwr I started with was 125" x 60". So it is a pretty comfortable length for me, I'm 5'11 or so.

Thanks for the kind words. It is a good peaceful purple, and not very annoying.

My niece now wants one for her birthday (right around Christmas), except she would like pink. I just happened to find a not-too-annoying pink DWR at Hancock fabrics, so that's next on the agenda.

Luckily I'm getting a little faster at making these, so maybe I won't be swimming in pink for too long... one can hope, anyway.

The actuality of that statement isn't actually possible. If it's pink material, it's annoying. Period. Exclamation. End of story.

I'll allow myself to agree with you only after I finish the project...

wal mart purple fabric can be a scoop

It is colorful, but the fabric is coated heavy nylon. Not a hammock but seems to fit the color theme in this thread. Back pack pics in gallery. I bought 80 feet of it soooo.... purple in my future as well.
