    Need NC/SC Lakeside Camping Suggestions

Looking to try and get away this weekend for a quick overnight. Not looking to hike in, so looking for drive up, and a site preferably with water/power. Mostly looking for beautiful lakefront site, access to water, etc. Live in Charlotte and would like to keep in within an hour and a half.

    Any thoughts?

Well, Devil's Fork State Park would be highly recommended but its outside your time limit. Not that familiar with the NC areas near you. Good luck and happy hanging wherever you go.

    Try Badin Lake.

Do you know about McDowell Park on Lake Wylie? It's definitely not remote, but it sure is close. They have drive-up tent sites with electricity and water.

I do in fact, actually my office was there about 12 years ago, when I was with Meck County Park & Rec, and now, I live 3 miles (at most) from there. So I am trying to get a little further out than that! It is a nice park though!

I am actually looking at Lake Norman State Park. Anyone been there?

I think I am between there and Badin right now.....
