Webbing length?

Any suggestions on the most common length to get in the webbing that I will use with the ultralight cinch buckle with chain link for my Eno double nest? I think I saw it posted somewhere but I can't find it now.

Mine are 12', and I have yet to need more.

My webbing from AHE is 15 feet

The ultralite cinch buckles are great too

I have 8ft on each side. Trees aren't very big in this area and these already allow for a wide range so I don't see why I would need more. I have been thinking of using the stock BlackBird straps recently. They are a bit lighter and longer than the ones I got from Strapworks, but they don't have a neato-burrito pattern on them like the ones I ordered!

I've settled on 12 feet for mine. Which works well for the places that I normally frequent. I believe that you may want to consider the average size of the trees in the areas that you will be using your straps. And then let that guide you as to the length that you will need.

I agree with poppabear. If you are not going to be around big trees then you can go with shorter straps. The nickname of the city I live in is "The Forest City" and there are a lot of really wide trees in the parks so I decided to order15 feet from AHE for my ENO. I think 10 feet is a good minimum length.

And I think 15 feet is optimum for the places I hang. I like a little extra just as a safety net. I have used up 12 foot straps and needed moere.

We have a lot of larger trees here in Washington. My original 12' straps were too small so I upgraded to 20'. The weight difference is not that much. I would err on the side of caution . . . you could always cut them down to fit your needs.

If you were so inclined to carry spare gear, you could always carry a length of spare webbing for times you have really big trees or have two trees a fair distance apart. I always carry spare gear so the extra weight (albeit not very much) is just part of my normal gear.

As expressed earlier, it depends of the size of the trees you are wanting to hang from and how much time you are willing to invest in finding a hang spot. I am currently using the 14 foot straps that came with my WBBB. They are long enough, although sometimes not big enough to get abound the best pair of trees so I end up having to find another pair. But so far that has not been a show stopper.
