    Line Suspension Uses after removal

    Hey All

I finally got my DL 1.7 WBBB today. Whhoooo Buddy. Great piece of work from Brandon.

It took me less than 2 minutes to swap out the suspension for my 8' set of UCRs. That was a rather easy job. Now I have 2 8' lengths of what appears to be 1/8" Amsteel. I am not certain about the Amsteel part, the 1/8" I am certain of (so says my calipers).

At any rate, I know Brandon describes them as low stretch single braid dyneema line and clearly it is meant to be weight bearing as he is using it for hammock suspension. My question is, what to do with the 2 8' pieces of line?

I was thinking of making a couple of continuous loops and using my descending rings and girth hitch those on to each end of the hammock to create a drip ring setup. I also thought to use the remainder of the line to make nacrabiners in various sizes.

Does anyone else have any thoughts on the matter?

    Cheers

    Brian

My vote is on nacrabiners/ring shackles....heck should be enough to try both options out, but don't waste such good rope on drip strips I'm about to hack the amsteel ridgeline off my old claytor to make some myself

I used part of the line to make my ucr and just buried some other amsteel through it. That way I didn't even have to take the line off of the hammock. I just cut it off at about 12" from the hammock.

I uses the remainder for nacrabiners. Love those things.
