I'm not sure what you mean, maybe suspension. However here is basic hammock building instructions.

Welcome to the forums. Glad to hear that you are trying to make your own hammock. I am not quite sure what you are asking. But if you go to the DIY section here on the forums there are a few sticky's at the beginning they may very well contain the information that you are seeking.

Hi and welcome! You mean "clew", a nautical term meaning the cords by which a hammock is suspended. We typically call these the suspension system. There are many choices for your DIY hammock. Search "suspension" on the forums and you'll find many threads on the topic. Again, welcome and be sure to post some pictures of your hammock when you finish it!

If the term is being used as I am used to seeing it... a clew is a mechanism for gathering multiple ropes into one bundle so they can be managed by a single rope beyond the point of gathering. Think Beyr hammocks with their multiple rope ends. Anytime I have had to do that on a hammock I have used a ring and tied or crimped the strings to the ring. The a single rope is tied or crimped opposite from the multiple attachments. Clews are manufactured specifically for stage and other types of rigging but are much too heavy, big and cumbersome for normal hammock use. At least IMO
Edit: Most gathered end hammocks are not designed this way and so the mechanism is not needed. Research suspensions to find one you can use that fits your needs and personality.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Welcome!
I don't think you need a clew, but I could use a clue most of the time.
Check this link...most of us base our DIY hammocks on some variant of this.

IMPOSSIBLE JUST TAKES LONGER
Given the OP's location, my bet is it's a lounger hammock that is sought. In which case, a clew is a both beautiful and functional way to handle it. I've never tried my hand at it, mostly cause I'm scared, but here is a link that I sometimes spend hours staring at: Hammock Clew Knot

Have you ever had the experience of learning a new word and then BAM suddenly you see it everywhere? Nailer posted this today on another thread. Thanks, Nailer.
