    Arrow I'm Making Whoopie... (Slings)

Just wanted to let you all know that we finally have our whoopie slings on the new site. With Opie's site down, I figured some of you are probably looking to get some and have nowhere to turn. Here's the link:

    http://hammockgear.com/shop/suspensi...hoopie-slings/

They're made of the same 7/64" Amsteel (rated to 1600 lbs), and I have both silver and gunmetal... 4', 6' and 8' pairs...

Pricing is very nice too (take a look)

I was just wondering , How do you put that cool "made by Stormcrow label on the whoopie slings ?

Cooler yet, you could put one of those tiny recording devices found in musical cards that makes the sound of a crow everytime you adjust the whoopie. Or maybe a whoo-buddy.

I'm looking at the 8' gunmetal gray whoopie slings you have here: http://hammockgear.com/shop/suspensi...hoopie-slings/

I'm seeing that they're quite a bit cheaper than on other sites ($17.95 w/free shipping vs. $21.25 + shipping) (I'm just looking at whoopieslings.com to get a comparison).

So I'd like to get the less expensive slings, but don't want to regret it later... Is there any difference in materials or construction that you know of?

Opie had an option for a Hennesey hammock.
Do you have that option and what is the option?

Go with the 6' set. I bought 8-footers, and that was just too much. I made 5' tree huggers from Speer webbing and use dutch clips. I permanently attached the adjustable loop into the hugger by sewing a fabric loop pretty close to the rope. It's great suspension.

I love those cards. If I can find a good supplier.....hmmmm... How cool WOULD that be?!

I am pretty sure the cordage is the same that most of the HF members are finding. I am using 7/64 amsteel blue (dark gray/gun metal) and Lash it for the hammock suspensions and Zing it for tarp ridge lines and guy lines. I do not have price points for the other stuff yet. Should have some photos up by the end of this week though!

I am getting all of my cordage from from Redden Marine. Those guys are great to work with by the way..

Now why did you have to go and do that! I have actually tried some of the other hot dog places around the central ohio area and I am still looking for something as good as those dogs we ate on the mountain. I have a feeling the bar was set to high. Even if I find one as tastes as good, it will not compare with the attached memories....so it will lose.. We need to go get some more potted meat and go climb a rock again!

    Hey there Tia,

There is not much to the HH modification. Opie and Knotty (and maybe a few other members that are buried in some wonderfully long thread) have worked out many spliced wonders regarding hammock and tarp suspension. The HH mod just gives it a little more room at the fixed eye to help it attach more securely to the HH models. I am sure there is a video out there talking about it...just got to find it... Anyway, you would just let me know you were putting it on a HH and I will build it to suit..
