I've got one! I'm really happy with it, the only thing I wasn't that impressed by is the pad thing comes with, warm yes, but makes it rather hard to lay in. What I did though is use it as a template to cut a CCF pad to size, grips a bit when putting it in but it works.
BUT my UQ from Leigh just passed though our customs so that solves that one again

The side zip is an absolute necessity.

I used my Deep Jungle for the first time a couple of weeks ago in the mountains. The mountain was maybe a 45 degree incline with some nice sized trees, I set it up and it started raining and the wind was blowing pretty hard, and, I was already wet and cold. This was my first time out with that model and I think I was getting wetter in the hammock than I would have been outside.

I am pretty sure I didnt set up the rainfly right, and the high wind didn't help. I ended up packing it in and walked back to the car. Overall, great hammock, I should have practiced with it prior to taking it out that day.

Thought I would revive an old thread instead of creating another.....

How does this compare to a WBBB? What's the lye like compared to a WBBB? If a WBBB could be modified with a Mod 4 I would already have it but it can't so now I'm stuck with a very tough decision. I've been staring at them both online for a while now and still can't make up my mind. If I could get to a group hang I would but there are none around here. I really wish I could lay in both of them!

    Chris,

I probably won't be much help other than to say that you'll eventually end up with a whole closet full of different hammocks!

In all seriousness, I have a WBBB and an HH Desert Rat with #4 mod from 2Q/ZQ. I also have a Trek Light double with WBBB suspension. I love them all and would be happy with taking any of them on a camping trip. I've either carefully modified and/or specifically chosen top quilts, pads, under quilts, etc, that work with all 3 of my hammocks.

Most of the answers you get will be subjective since tastes, height, weight, etc, vary amongst users.

Thanks Alan..I think I'll end up getting a WBBB and if I don't like it I can just sell it here within a few minutes. I wish Brandon would sell a package deal like Hennessy does, just makes it easier for us noobs. I figure a WBBB with a Superfly is about the same as a DJ XL until you factor in other things like a tarp ridgeline, biners, guyouts, stakes etc etc etc. Of course I would end up going to whoopies or adjustable webbing/straps if I went with the DJ so I guess it ends up being about the same. Decisions, decisions. I hate decisions sometimes!

The HH Deep Jungle was my first hammock, and I love the lay in it. After reading the HF, I was considering a WBBB. A fellow HF member loaned me his and I hated the lay. Saved me some $$'s. I have gotten down to the 40's in the Deep Jungle with the Reflectix and a T-rest. Enjoy your Deep Jungle!

BTW, I upgraded to Hex tarp on the HH and it has kept me dry in storms when ground dwellers tent leaked and ended up under my tarp.
