    Ideas for Oregon Campout

    Hi there!
I saw in other threads there were quite a few NW hangers and would like to get some input. My brother and I are going out to Oregon to visit our Dad and were hoping to break-a-way for a hang somewhere. We're both hangers and are looking for something in the five to seven mile range with the campsite on a river or lake with some swimming opportunities. Don't care how cold it is! I've swam in Crater Lake a few years ago and that was the best swim ever!!
There's SO many choices to choose from. I like the Mt. Hood and Columbia River area. My brother likes the Coast and southern part of Oregon. Bend and the sisters area are not out of the question for us. What's your favorite hang? If you've got pics that would be awesome too! Thanks for the help and advice.

    Serene Lake Hike

This weekend I will be doing the Serene Lake hike in the Mt. Hood wilderness. I will give you an update after the trek. Supposed to be some good fishing, swimming, and sights to see. It is a 13 mile loop though, but you can shorten it if you don't want to do the whole loop.
Today is a bad day to be unprepared...

Cool! Keep me update and pics too if you get them. Thanks!

I just learned that I will be up to Mt. Hood (don't know where exactly) on Tuesday through Thursday of next week. I'll let you know where we camped out at... I'll probably throw it together as a trip report, since it will be my second one.

Thanks Mindwalk, I'll be looking forward to that report. I'm actually partial to the Mt Hood area.

The best swim of my life was at Crater lake. I'll be marking this on my calender for next year. I'm very interested. My brother and I are planning to come out from the south east to visit my dad around sept or oct this year. So, keep the ideas coming. Thanks so much!
