(Jerzies are a kick--I'd invite them to *any* hang!) We all enjoyed dinner--how many different alcohol variations are there?--and I pulled out some rare Guatemalan chocolate for everyone to taste. (I helped make the bar when I visited Guatemala earlier this year. You can see pictures of me (in a borrowed hat) at the plantation here). We conveniently had one piece left for Niloc, who showed up just around dark and found suitable hammocking trees with his flashlight. Made an early night of it and slept very well, despite the 2AM downpour and considerable rain until daybreak.

Woke up to light rain only to find I'd forgotten my raincoat. (Thanks SkyPainter for the loaner poncho). Some of the other folks set up a large tarp, which functioned as home-base through most of the rainy day.

Day cleared a bit and a few of us (Bleemus, Jonesy, Veto, and I (and Bongo, of course)) made the hike around the pond. Nice, but nettles in proliferation). A gray day, but good conversation. Enjoyed dinner (quinoa with smoked trout and SkyPainter's hotsauce, for me), a lot of tuna helper for Veto ;-) Finished by sharing some fine Valrhona Jivara chocolate with the group and called it a night.

====> No Problem! Glad I brought the extra tarps and the poncho. At least we all stayed reasonably dry ...although the 100 lb pack will be no more! I am downsizing everything, pack, extra stuff, etc. These old knees were screaming at me! LOL!

PS: I am whipping-up some sauces for you, Rich. Stay tuned.

I didn't know that. I'm going to look for quinoa in the store next week, thanks.

Wow....!! I found out the real reason for my down turn and ended up having a triple by pass done. Just got out of the hospital today and am already looking forward to the next hang. Of course, I still have to have the lung problem sorted out when I'm able. Right now I'm just glad to be home for my anniversary today (48 years) and spending some some time with the REAL Quoddy, too.

====> Wow! Well, glad you had it taken care of! Now be faithful to the rehab program, and get well enough to get back on the trails! We will more than likely be having another hang in Vermont, and hope to see you there! and Happy anniversary, too!
