I didn't realize the Hennessys were selling hammocks without bugnets. That's good to know! Wonder if they still have a bottom slit; that would be funny.

I think it would still be convenient for people who have a hard time getting in and out of a top entry hammock...much more controlled to sit and lay back for someone with a weak back, for example.

I didn't realize they were selling them, either...good call, though. The non-removable bug net is the most common critique I hear of the HH.
“Republics are created by the virtue, public spirit, and intelligence of the citizens. They fall when the wise are banished from the public councils because they dare to be honest, and the profligate are rewarded because they flatter the people, in order to betray them.” ~Judge Joseph Story

Didn't even think about that; you're right.

I own one of the purple clearance hammocks. I bought it for my daughter after I bought my hyperlight. Imagine my surprise when I weighed the two and found that the purple ULB is lighter than the hyperlight. I don't know if all of them are like that, but if you can live with the color, they are a great deal. Most of us are going to have some sort of undercover on them anyway.

That light racer is tempting. Just say no! If they had a netless version of the hyperlight, ahhhhhhh...

The netless ultralight is beckoning. I already made one for myself, I need to just keep saying that.

    I hear you. My mantra

I don't need a netless Safari. I don't need a netless Safari. My still-unopened ENO double can surely do all that the Safari can. I don't need a netless Safari. ....

these chants usually don't work. But I'm trying.

What has need got to do with it? Most of us are North Americans. We have wants, ya know!

I realized yesterday that I have 3 hammocks and 7 backpacks. That's just stupid. I'm not even gonna count stoves and pots...

first HH from Odds & Ends

I thought I would make do for a few more months with my Chinese made camo hammock I got from an Army Surplus store, with a Guide Gear camo fly, a Wiggy's poncho liner for an underquilt, and a CCF pad inside.

Then I saw Rasputen's Odds & Ends post.

Mrs. Hennessey took my order this morning for an Explorer UL Asym, with Supershelter and Snakeskins. The total was close to the list price for the hammock alone. What a bargain!

    Thanks, Rasputen!
