Thanks, I am pretty happy with this setup; quite pleased, to be exact. I want to get out and sleep in it now. I was planning on it this weekend, but my business has been so good. that I now have to work this Saturday to keep up, and I am not complaining. Flippen gnats, skeeters, high temps, and humidity are so bad right now, that camping isn't a fantastic idea right now anyway.

Nighttime air temps in the 50's or lower can happen all summer here, and probably in Iowa too. I predict your next project will be an underquilt - maybe a summer UQ out of insultex? You've done a great job; keep up the good work. Nice photos. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys. Yea, I will have to do an underquilt so I have the complete setup. SH, it's coming. I also just 90% finished a 14 man tipi I made out of a military parachute by removing 6 panels, and installing a 6' zipper door. I need a pole for it and sew a stove jack in it to complete it.

Here are some pics of a huge front sun porch setup. This is where these hammock/tarp setups shine imo, especially in warm weather, over a tent. You can setup so many variations and the hammock can be used as a chair to sit in for eating or just sitting in.

On the ridgeline it's not too critical since a failure doesn't result in a fall. Just be aware that the thread used to secure a bury is to prevent it from sliding out when unloaded but does not provide any strength to the bury.
